I can't find your Funky Needle Felting tutorial. Nothing appears.
I would also like to ask how you got your fish to look so smooth. I want to make some tropical fish for our dry aquarium, and I don't want them to look fuzzy under the light.

I can't see your video either. Will check back later.

Hi Linda & Susan. I think the video is working now.
Linda, I sew silk gauze over the felt for my fishes and people.

@Robin Andreae
Thank you so much for your reply to my question.
I'd never heard of or thought of sewing gauze over felting, and I can't quite get my mind wrapped around it. What kind of thread do you use, and how do you manage to smooth it around the contours?

Thank you, Mary Anne & Linda.
Linda, the silk gauze has a lot of give to it. So I cut the piece a bit smaller and stretch it over. I try to keep my seams hidden. I usually place them on fishes near the spine and around the gill coverings. I use just regular sewing thread. I try to get the color to match. I like to over dye the silk, too. It creates a depth in coloring.

Robin, you're so nice to let me pick your brain like this!
I imagine the silk has a little sheen to it, so maybe that is all I'd need
I saw recently that a friend used paste food coloring and vinegar to dye some wool. Would that work on the silk? I've never done any dying. Is over-dying done after you sew it on? How would you handle fish of multiple colors?

Hi Linda. Any acid dye should work. I'm not too sure how color fast food coloring is, though.

Simone, I'm not sure why it isn't working. You can see it here, hopefully.
