An Orange Octopus

This is a little orange octopus that I finished as a commissioned piece. She’s going to sit atop a small tri-corner hat. I can’t wait to see it completed! She's hand beaded with sequin suction cups. Her eyes are clear glass cabachons that have been backed with hand painted paper. I like the way her eyes turned out. I'm going to experiment with this eye technique some more. It's really great if you have an animal with an unusual pupil shape.

  2. The woman that I made this for is studying fashion and wants to go into movie costuming. I think this is kind of a steampunk kind of thing. But I'm not sure. I'll post pics when she gets it completed. It's an exciting idea.

  11. Nice job! Something different, for sure. This will look amazing on the hat--is it for a pirate cosplay, or maybe steampunk? It would make a great addition to a pirate hat!

  12. Love the octopus he reminds me of when I worked for the Monterey Aquarium there in California. Our octopus looked very much like your creation and was a favorite of the staff. Good choice on the sequins for the suction cups and great eyes....looks spot on!
