Here's a little bluebird that I finished today. He's just 3 inches tall and is a little larger than life-sized. His auction should start on eBay this Sunday at 6:45 pm PST. The reserve price is $135.00 and his Buy It Now is $220.00. It's a bit lower since he doesn't come with any extras.
He doesn't need extras with that face!
ReplyDeleteI like this work. Your detail is amazing. I notice you use other materials for beaks and feet. Could you tell me what that is and if you use a wire form when constructing the bodies? Thank you and it is a great work.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jeanie :-)!
ReplyDeleteStacy, I use Apoxie Sculpt for the beak and feet. I don't always use a wire frame. It just depends on the piece. I did for this one.
He's beautiful Robin and doesn't need any extras, he's perfect as he is!

Mr. Blue looks great...You maneged to put a look of intrest into his eyes and head position :-)
ReplyDeleteAmazing....I tried doing some needle felting once....how the heck did you learn this! I have never seen anyone else's that are so realistic and detailed!!
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone!
ReplyDeleteRascal Rescue, I found out about needle felting on the internet while doing some research for a painting that I was working on. I ordered a kit from Winderwood Farms on eBay. It was pretty much trial and error with a lot of poked fingers and broken needles. I think my familiarity with wildlife painting has really helped. I'm also very critical of my own work and very persistant. I think it helps me to continually improve.
Well you certainly taught yourself well!! You should be giving classes!
ReplyDeleteThanks Deanne :-)!
