Anniversary Give Away Details, Plus my Latest Two

Here are my latest two creations and some more details on the Give Away.   They both have a reserve price of $135.00 and their auctions begin tonight at 6:45 pm PST.
Well it looks like the mouse won as the prize. I will hold the drawing on Sunday March 21, the first day of Spring. It will be a "names in the hat" kind of drawing. Each and every time you post a comment on one of my posts entitles you to another entry to win the little mouse. I will email the winner once his/her name has been drawn and will post the results here in the blog. Good luck to all of you!

  4. The frog reminds me of Mr. Toad in his disguise :) Have you read/seen Wind In The Willows? Looks just like him!

  5. Thanks everyone :-)!
Lireal, that was my inspiration for my toad. But I was a bit concerned about copyright stuff to call her Mr. Toad esq. I just love the "Wind in the Willows". Have you seen the T. V. "Wind in the Willows" special where Mat Lucas from "Little Briitian" plays Mr. Toad?

  6. Robin, as you know, I just LOVE your work and these are no exception. I think you hit both of the nails on the head. With the beak and tootsies, your little duckling is spot on! And as for your frog, Mr. Toad disquised as a washerwoman was the first thing that came to my mind!
    Heaps of Hugs,

  7. Your work is getting better & better! Mme Frog with her flowers reminded me of Froggie went acourting. So how about making a gentleman frog in his top hat & tails.
The baby duck is so cute. Just in time as hopefully spring is round the corner.

  8. I really love how you give your animals "personalities"....it is something that I hope to do some day (but can't stop needle felting long enough to learn how to sew little costumes)

Both are wonderful but love the frog legs....tasty(tell him I'm kidding)

  10. What an incredible imagination you have. I love both the duck and the frog. The frog in the scarf though to me is magnificent. I would have never been able to dream something like that up. Wonderful!

  12. I am inspired by your work. I began following your work last year when you sold the mouse with the fortune cookie on ebay. I have been hooked ever since. I began needle felting at that time and seem to get a little better with each work I do. I also have tremendous respect for the portion of your sales going to animal organizations.

  14. Hi Robin,
I just discovered your blog, I love it!!! And of course I love your needle felting too. Your creations are so realistic. Wish I had got to vote, I would have voted for a pig. They are my favorite. But none of your creations are ever a let down. I really admire your work and look forward to seeing your new creations.
Your new spring duckling is just adorable.

  22. Thanks, everyone!
Hi Julietk, The feet and beak are scuplted from a resin called Apoxie Sculpt. It's much more durable than regular polymer clay and doesn't need to be baked.

  25. Hi Susan & Vicki,
Thanks for stopping by! Susan, the little duckling sold with a Buy It Now within a few hours after the listing began. You can see his auction in my completed listings. http://completed.shop.ebay.com/artbyrjandreae/m.html?LH_Complete=1&_fln=1&_ipg=&_trksid=p3911.c0.m283&_rdc=1

  26. O my goodness...your little duckling just made me realize where my love for needle felted animals and maybe even miniature scenes comes from...As a child I had a favourite fairy tale book and I recently found it again in the attic of my parents house. It is called ´The Fairy Tale Treasury´ and all the photos have felt dolls and animals in it. The puppets are by T.Izawa. (Google him!) I´m sure you would like it too.
I think I´ll do a post on the book next week.
    Again, lovely work!

  27. I think my little sister had one of his books. It was Hans Christian Andersen's "Little Mermaid". It was one my favorites to look at and was the inspiration for a lot of my childhood art. I loved his use of color and the puppets just made it seem so real yet fanciful. I've often thought of photographing some of my felties in 3-d dioramas. Thanks, Josje, again for the kind compliments and for helping to bring back some wonderful childhood memories :-)!
    Thanks again, Josje
